2025 Kitchen Trends

A new year brings a fresh wave of kitchen trends. We’ve seen everything from eco-friendly designs to bold, retro kitchen schemes. In 2025, we’ll be creating thoughtful spaces that evoke feelings of nostalgia and serenity.

If you have a maximalist interior style, add contrast to your kitchen with Victorian jewel tones or cool, stainless steel details. Or, if you lean towards the minimalist design aesthetic, ground your space with imperfect, natural materials 🪓

Let's dive into the up-and-coming looks of 2025. Our Co-Founder, Tom Revill, also joins us to share his insights on how to get the look yourself.

English Storybook 📚

Inspired by classic English children's literature, the English Storybook trend is characterised by a whimsical and nostalgic aesthetic. This trend evokes a sense of charm and warmth, often incorporating elements that transport individuals to a magical, storybook world.

Picture the comforting interiors of a classic cottage, drawing you in with curated, whimsical details. Think muted, pastel cabinetry like sage green, lavender and cream. Add rustic charm with materials like stone and rattan, and bring comfort with soft fabrics, like linen, cotton and wool.

"It’s no surprise to see the popularity of the English Storybook kitchen in 2025. Get the look with playful details, including gingham accents, café curtains and bobbin detailing," says Tom.

Heritage Hues 💎

In 2025, many will embrace Heritage Hues – rich, jewel tones to recreate the deep character of Georgian and Victorian kitchens. We’ll see dark mahogany, sapphire blue and even emerald green cabinets.

Take it a step further with intricate mouldings or decorative trim to add a sense of grandeur, with antique brass hardware and ornate designs bringing together the overall look. White or black marble countertops add a touch of luxury and sophistication and to cap it all off, vintage-inspired pendant lights can be used to create a focal point.

Tom predicts that "in 2025, we’ll see jewel tones bring timeless character to shaker-style kitchens. Opt for traditional hardware and add a modern twist with sleek appliances.”

Cool Metals 💿

Taking the y2k silver trend to another level, 2025 will see a surge of Cool Metal kitchens. A popular choice for those who take their cooking space seriously or just prefer a hyper-modern look.

In this no-nonsense kitchen, sleek stainless steel hardware takes centre stage. A stainless steel kitchen island instantly adds an industrial twist, giving the space a modern, utilitarian edge. Paint the walls or cabinetry in neutral tones like butter yellow, dark gray or black to highlight the sleek stainless steel features. Incorporate elements like exposed brick, concrete, or metal accents for a modern industrial feel, along with sleek appliances to complete the look.

Tom explains that "everyone binge-watching The Bear will have dreamed about a Cool Metals kitchen refurb. It’s all about sleek lines, modern aesthetics, and a touch of industrial chic. With stainless steel hardware and a clean, minimalist design, this trend is perfect for the modern home cook.”

Mindful Materials 🪓

Inspired by the Japanese design philosophy of Wabi Sabi, the Mindful Materials kitchen trend emphasises the beauty of imperfection and the natural cycle of life. It focuses on creating tranquil spaces that embrace organic forms, textures, and neutral tones, fostering mindfulness and a serene, inviting atmosphere.

Consider wood, stone, and bamboo for a raw and organic feel. Embrace their imperfections, whether knots in wooden chairs or cracks in pottery. Use a palette of neutral colours, such as beige, grey, and brown, to create a calming atmosphere. Incorporate textured fabrics like linen, jute, and cotton for a cosy and inviting feel whilst keeping clutter to a minimum.

“The key to embracing the Mindful Materials trend? Focus on introducing natural materials. Solid oak cabinet hardware and wall hooks will instantly ground your interior scheme," says Tom.
