Select Add-ons
Make the most of this product with the following add-ons. If you need extra screws or a different screw length, just add them below.
Customize your look.
Every plate ships with a spacer, giving you the flexibility to install flush to the wall or raised by 3/16" — enough to sit cleanly over a projecting electrical box, so nothing peeks out behind the plate. No adaptors to source, no guesswork. Just a clean result however your walls are wired.
Install with, or without, screw cover caps.
Whether you prefer the honest detail of exposed screw heads, or the seamless look of hidden fixings, both options are included as standard. Each is finish-matched to your plate, so you can decide on install day.
Custom build your own.
Can't see the finish or function combination you're after? Our switch builder lets you mix and match, to create a plate that's entirely your own.

Satin Brass
A classic, lightly-brushed brass with a muted golden appearance. Finished with a protective lacquered coating.
Blackened Bronze
A rich, almost-black finish that presents with a reddish warmth when in direct sunlight.
Unlacquered Brass
A 'live', mirror-polished finish that will patina beautifully with age — through everyday use and interactions.
Antique Brass
A hand-finished, roughly-brushed finish that reveals warm, golden tones at the contours and edges. Each piece is subtly unique.
Polished Nickel
A high-shine silver finish with more warmth than chrome. A hard wearing finish that will darken slightly with time.
Heritage Brass
A hand-finished, roughly-bushed brass, with more warmth and depth than Satin Brass. It delivers an imperfect, lived-in look from day one.

FAQs
About our Switches & Outlets
-
Are your Modules certified for US and Canadian use?
Yes, our switches are certified and suitable for use in the US and Canada markets. All of our modules are cULus rated.
-
What electrical boxes do I need for your switches and outlets?
For a premium, flush installation, we recommend using a low-profile wall box option. Our team can recommend one, if you contact us: talk@plankhardware.com
Otherwise, you can use the included spacer with most standard old-work (retrofit) electrical boxes. In some cases, you may need to trim the mounting wings if they are too large. Our products are designed to be compatible with most old-work back boxes available on the market. -
Do you sell 4-way switches?
Yes, we sell 4-way toggle switches. These are available to purchase as a 1G switch option, or you can buy in any format you require via the 'Build your Own' or 'Components' sections on our site.
-
When should I use a 4-way switch?
4-way switches need to be used when three or more switches are required to control the same light. 3-way switches are used at the start and end of the circuit, and one or more 4-way switches are added to the middle of the circuit.
-
Can I create a custom switch configuration?
Yes, we have a 'Build your own' configurator which allows for any switch or outlet combination to be created. We also sell all of our components seperately via the 'Components' section of our site.
-
Can I use a dimmer in a 3-way switch setup?
Yes, in a 3-way or 4-way circuit, only one dimmer replaces one of the 3-way mechanical switches. The remaining switches can still turn the light on and off, but only the dimmer provides brightness control.
-
Do your electrical switches arrive assembled?
No, our electrical items are shipped unassembled and will require assembly during installation.
-
How do I install your electrical products?
When you purchase our plates, you will always get a spacer part included in the box, giving you the choice between two installation approaches depending on the look and finish you're after.
The first is a standard installation, a straightforward process where you trace the electrical box onto the wall, cut the opening, insert the box, secure it, and wire the module using the included instructions. The spacer and mounting screws ensure the plate sits correctly off the wall for a clean, functional finish.
The second is a flush-mount installation, designed for those who want a more architectural, built-in look. This method requires a little more precision, setting the electrical box exactly 0.1" (2.5mm) behind the drywall face so the faceplate sits perfectly flat against the wall with no raised edges or visible gaps.
Either way, always turn off power at the circuit breaker before starting. Hand-tighten all screws — never use a power tool, as this can damage the plate finish.
